I have to apologize for my complete lack of consistency in writing on here..for all two of my followers (I'm being generous). But, things have been absolutely crazy and my other job has begun to consume my life. I have many more stories to share with you and not nearly enough time to write them all down on here. I'm on Christmas break and trying to catch up. Forgive me if you can...
Today I will tell you another story about dear Aurthur. Arthur had been going through a rough time. He was in the middle of moving to another house and for him it was a big deal. Kids with Autism generally don't handle change very well. Aurthur was no exception to that rule. I will combine a few examples into this post because there is quite a bit to say about the last few weeks.
To start, Aurthur was having another strange day, much like the one described in my last post. He happened to be in writing class and he started to talk nonsense again. Mr. Writing Teacher sent him to his cool off room to get it together much like I had tried to do before, only this time Aurthur had much more interesting things to say.
I have to preface this part by telling about the two other students who happened to be in the room Aurthur walked into. The first student (I will call him Daniel), is one of my toughest students to work with. He hates school, he hates most of his teachers, and he is my absolute favorite student. He has made me cry more times than I can count on my hands now, but I still love him and will defend him to no end when he is in deep trouble. He has been in countless fights and feels sorry for no one when he makes fun of them. But he will NOT make fun of Aurthur. He knows better. He defends Aurthur when he sees him being picked on and I absolutely adore him for that. Anyway...the other student (Ashley) is sitting in the room taking a test. She is a quiet student and a good student. That's really all you need to know about her.
So, Daniel and Ashley are hanging out in the room when Aurthur walks in and says to Ashley "Hey, sexy! You wanna go on a date sometime? We could go to my house and drink some wine and maybe smoke some drugs!" I also forgot to mention that Aurthur has a bit of a speech issue, so pretend all of his R's are W's. So, something a little like this "Hey, sexy! You wanna go on a date sometime? We could to go my house and dwink some wine and smoke some dwugs!" So, Mrs. "Johnson" comes out to see what is going on. She asks Aurthur to calm down and take a seat. Aurthur doesn't like this request and proceeds to tell Mrs. Johnson, "you think you'we sexy but you'we not! You'we not all that! But, maybe we could all go on a double date sometime." Mrs. Johnson was NOT amused by this offer and continued to try to get Aurthur to calm down. Aurthur's next line went something like this: "Mrs. Johnson?...Heaven must be missing an angel wight now because you awe heavenwy" I don't think Mrs. Johnson wanted to admit it, but wouldn't you feel flattered if a student told you that? I know I would. But, I digress.
Later on in the day I would hear more stories from other students and teachers about how Aurthur told some girls that they were sexy, grabbed their arms, and began to slowly and softy kiss his way up their arms. This, my friends, is one of my favorite stories. I love this kid because he has such a good heart and unintentionally makes me laugh almost every day. Thank you, Aurthur. Thank you.
